The Poetess

When she applied pen to paper
She gave birth
To Greek temples
Elegant castles
Dense forests
Thunderstorms
Chirping sparrows
Monotonous crickets
Impish elves
Playful bears
Stately sea horses
Dapper penguins
Naked mole rats
Lascivious rabbits
Leaping salmon
Chattering squirrels
Sleek panthers
Doleful bison
Crazed hyenas
Flitting hummingbirds
Serene nudibranchs
A veritable world
Of infinite fascinating variety
When she loved
All creatures joined voices
A great choir
In harmonious melodic motion
To stir the heart
Of their Creator
