Face Remembered From Childhood (December 30, 2007)

She smiled like the joy of strawberry jam
Buttered wheat toast
Cup of hot cocoa
Saturday morning nothing to do
When laziness dawdled and mused through the day
Placid and peaceful
Her loving was quiet
Serene mountain lake
Glassy and smooth
Her warmth was a bath
That could go on forever
A universe frozen in time
