Last spring I created a female persona on the same website, where I was an established writer. I didn’t “out” myself until mid April. Many of the women were taken in by my ruse. I have not been on this website for several months, but the amazing thing is that every one’s imagination has gone wild. They think I am still logging on there to see what devious things I can cause. It is rather funny if it weren’t so sad. I do take a look at the site because it is public and does not require logging on.
It is like the old telephone game, where you get twenty people in a line. Whisper something to one person on the end of the line that is a brief story. Have the people pass the message down the line, whispering it in the ear of the person next to them. When you come to the end of the line, have the person at the end relate the story. No doubt it will be radically different from the first story. This has been shown to be true many times.
Looking back, the people on this website have accused me of everything short of murder. I realize this sounds like an exaggeration, but it is not. They have threatened to turn me into the FBI, the police, etc. I have done nothing, which I am sure would be confirmed, if anyone took the time to look. Yet they haven’t.
This whole scenario is really frightening because it proves to me the bi-polar insanity that exists in America and perhaps other parts of the world among the general public. When I take the time to look at television, one can witness many forms of delusional reality, such as the people who are the guests on the Dr. Phil show.
Onr of the “saner” people on the writing website said this: “What have I missed. Are you saying (whoever starts shit) that Fred is this dude who is terrorizing people. Have you all lost your “effin” mind. This other guy (meaning me} is more mysterious than this damn site....But let me assure you all... that Fred (a name for a real individual) is one of the few decent people on here. You all have lost it. It's incredible”.
One of the insane people on the website said:
“You don’t have any clue what he is doing simply because it's not all being posted on the forums. And since you DON'T have a clue, you probably shouldn't be handing out opinion so cavalierly.”
All of it is utterly mystifying.
If you are going to mess around with the internet, only communicatewith people whom you know to exist. Be careful of whom you trust.
Do not publish copyrighted material without appropriate notices.
There are predators out there who are lurking. I am not one of them. My presence is around enough so that you can google me and do a search for some of my credentials.
