I am sick

so sick at heart

to the depths of my soul

over this Balkans affair

I fear a repeat of the unraveling that led to World War I. I am so deeply crushed that Good seems to be damned if it does or doesn’t. Such a countless slaughter over nationalism.

In one respect, it’s so easy to get angry and feel that these people deserve the consequences of their actions. But, as a believer in Good, all I see is the ease of evil winning victory after victory, conquest after conquest, the aggression changing sides through the too many years of perpetuating blood lust. Whether in the name of God or country, the result is all demonic.

Once again people have devolved to their primordial low self esteem and are hell bent on killing. For what?! And if a clear determination of right and wrong could be accessed, it would take the moral side to completely decimate the other. Such wanton destruction.

As a Jew, I am deeply incensed. As a human being, I’m outraged over the waffling and political wrangling that is going on while this ethnic cleansing and genocide is going on.
